Captains Report
Fantastic weather for the 16 of us that played at Thornbury last week but only one person went away with the Severn View trophy.
The course was in excellent condition and the staff were very welcoming.
£123.50 (someone was very generous with the extra 50p) was collected after the £30 was stolen, I mean paid out to the birdie winners:
Wayne £10
Tony £10
Derek £10
Well done gentlemen.
Nearest the pin was Gary £5
Nearest the pin in 2 was Dean £5
Longest drive was Dean £5
Dean had his name on all 3 but he was in the first group out so a special thanks goes to Gary for knocking him off 1 of them.
And so we come to the result:
1st with 41 pts Roy £20 and the Severn View trophy
2nd with 40 pts Tony £10
3rd with 36 pts Wayne £5 and he never played the 18th, something to do with a football match 🙂
A reminder to let the handicap secretary know if your handicap changes in between Nomads matches whether you go up or down.
Next meeting is St Pierre Old course and the details have already been sent out.
If you haven’t paid then your place is not secured. If we get 24 I will approach the club and ask if it is possible to have another tee time.
On behalf of your committee we look forward to seeing you if you are able to join in the fun.

Gaudet Luce Captains report
I’d like to start off by thanking every one of you for your support and patience on 19th June at Gaudet Luce and Gaudet Luce Staff for making the day such a success. The President and I wanted to try and roll 3 competitions into 1 day and we think it worked. Everyone seemed to like the fun Hadzor 9 hole par 3 course played before our brunch got the Presidents Cup. Details of individual winners below.
We also played the first round of the Newton Cup and I’m pleased to say the Celts performed exceptionally winning 10 – 4.
The afternoon on the Phoenix course proved more difficult having been set up by the green keepers for the Blitz Golf competition held the following Sunday and lightning greens in tough positions.
The OOM results are as follows:
1st with 30 points on countback – Joey Gilder
2nd with 30 points Gary O’Connell
3rd with 29 points Adie Shilston
Well done guys Simon has an extra prize in the form of handicap deductions for the remainder of the year.
LD was won by Adie Shilston
NPi2 was won by Manny
NP was won by Steve G.
The Newton Cup second round yet again produced excellent results for the Celts winning 9 – 5
Giving them a resounding 19 – 9 victory and holding onto the cup for another year.
Thanks to Wayne for collecting the birdie money, and thanks to Derek for fining everyone. Always fun to find out what others have been up to during the day.
Birdie comp £100
Fines £114
